Meet the Manager

Katy Richards - Nursery Manager

Katy is our Nursery Manager at Celtic Springs. She has over nine years of experience working in early years education and began her childcare journey as a Nursery Practitioner before progressing into management. Katy is passionate about creating positive, nurturing relationships with children and building strong connections with families and the wider community. Her favourite thing about her role is watching children develop, grow in confidence and reach important milestones throughout their nursery journey. She is committed to providing a safe, supportive and engaging environment where every child can thrive and achieve their full potential.

When she is not working, Katy enjoys going for walks, spending quality time with family and friends, and visiting new places.

To support her, Katy has a highly qualified and experienced team. Her staff are dedicated to giving young children the care and attention they need to aid their social, emotional and intellectual development. Our nursery workers are up to Level 5 qualified in Childcare and Education or are working towards or beyond this qualification. We offer training and continued professional development to all employees.

We are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children. All our employees undergo child protection screening, including checks with past employers and the Disclosure and Barring Service. Staff are trained in paediatric first aid and child protection, giving you added peace of mind.

Assessment in our setting is embedded into everyday practice through ongoing observation. Rather than ticking boxes, our practitioners build a picture of each child’s growth over time using professional judgement and meaningful interactions.
