A new addition to the Little Trees family - Christ Church
There will be a sixth Little Trees Nursery opening this September 2021, subject to Ofsted approval. Little Trees Christ Church will be the second Cheltenham branch to the popular Little Trees Landsdown that opened its doors back in 2017. The new nursery will be for children aged 0-4 and will be based at Airthrie Independent School that has recently been acquired by Dean Close Foundation.
This will be a small-setting, discreet nursery with minimal physical change. There is unused space in the existing buildings to ensure that there is plenty of room to give the children at the school excellent teaching facilities, while making space for the new, youngest members of the community. Dean Close Foundation have experience in setting up 52 week per year nurseries within other Foundation Schools; Dean Close Pre-Preparatory School and Dean Close St John’s, and the nurseries have proven to be major feeders to the schools, giving a natural opportunity for children to get to know the surroundings, facilities and personalities that make each school unique. The Foundation feel the addition of a nursery on the Airthrie site will give greater choice to families and give more children a chance to get a flying start in life. Educationally, the aim of Little Trees is to provide a loving, nurturing & safe environment filled with warmth and promise where individuals' talents are encouraged to flourish and grow, and this ethos sits well alongside our schools. Since launching Dean Close Nurseries 6 years ago, they have proven to be very successful and contribute enormously to our family of schools and nurseries. Little Trees was rebranded in March 2021 and the success of this has been phenomenal; places at our nurseries are popular and, in some cases, full. The closest Little Trees nursery to Airthrie is Little Trees Lansdown, which is so popular it has been turning children away for some months now, and Little Trees Christ Church would look to fill their places with some of the children from this waiting list as well as opening up to any existing Airthrie families who would find this provision attractive If you have already registered your children for Acorns, the existing term time only nursery provision at Airthrie, your preferences will be honoured and these children will be accommodated and cared for, just as you were expecting, by the current Airthrie staff.
Karen Green, Nursery Manager for Little Trees Lansdown, will be responsible for the day-to-day management of Little Trees Christ Church initially, for the first term. Karen is a strong leader and will relish in this new opportunity with a strong senior management team supporting her and both nurseries.
